Dream Chamber is a point-and-click adventure game, in the third person, for iPhone, iPad, PC, Mac, Android, developed by DarkWave Games (Alittleb.it’s gaming brand), co-financed by Forge Reply, published by Microïds.

Technology

Coherently to our basic strategy, Dream Chamber has been created to develop and to test a new technology that will become an Alittleb.it’s product: “Real Chamber”. So, very soon, Alittleb.it will be able to offer to its clients an innovative and very effective new approach to Game-Based Marketing: “Real Chamber” has been conceived to allow Alittleb.it to rapidly develop optimized multiplatform Graphic Adventure, set in real locations, minimizing entrance-barriers for users.

In fact, here two of the main features of Real Chamber:

  • we choose to use 2D environments as graphic base and our technology is able to automatically simulate 3D. This feature will allow:
    • to delete every entrance-barriers for the user, making the product cross target;
    • to use photographs to create the environments, without requiring expensive and time-consuming 3D reconstructions.
  • the technology is based on Unity3D: this helps us to rapidly develop, test and publish on iOS, Android, Window (desktop and mobile), OSX, Linux. Plus, it’s easy to create browser version of the product

In example, Real Chamber will be a fantastic tool to create:

  • Company tours: to describe innovative process; to let clients see quality assurance processes; to narrate the company history; etc. etc.
  • E-learning for Employees: to teach to new employees spaces, procedures, standard approaches to clients, etc. etc.
  • Educational Products: Museum Tours; Simulations of way of living; etc. etc.

THE ADVENTURE

A humorous adventure with a quirky cartoon graphic style. Immerse yourself in 30s America, between Prohibition and the Great Depression, and discover Charlie, a rich heir who divides his time between social obligations and his hobby as a private detective. During yet another official museum opening, Charlie witnesses a robbery, the victim of which is none other than his own girlfriend. Firmly set on investigating the case despite the reluctance of his uncle, the detective in charge of the inquiry, he unknowingly embarks on what will become the greatest adventure of his life! Thanks to his unique skill and unrivalled memory, Charlie explores and investigates all the way into his dreams!

MTV Italia selected Alittleb.it as partner for developing the digital tools of the first edition of the MTV Awards 2013, the first Social Event by MTV Italia. Alittleb.it was the official technical partner of the event.

For the second step of the project, Alittleb.it designed and developed for MTV Italia an outstanding tool for counting the number of tweets received by 20 artists in real-time.

During all the event’s live coverage, MTV Awards’ host used Social Tracker to monitor the audience interest about the artists that were awarded.

MTV Awards: Artist Saga

MTV Italia chooses Alittleb.it to develop the digital tools for the MTV Awards 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016.
Alittleb.it is the official techincal partner of the event.

For the first step of the project, Alittleb.it designed and, using an Alittleb.it’s proprietary technology, developed for MTV Italia an outstanding tool to generate matches between contenders named “Artist Saga”.

This application has been made using cutting-edge web technologies such as HTML5, CSS3 for a rich user experience and it’s able to scale to deliver thousands of page-views per second and to manage even 30.000 concurrent users, thanks to a complex caching system and the cloud-based architecture.

The app is Facebook Connected and, using a flexible backend technology, can be customized for different situations an rebranding. The unique technology allows different usages of this system just changing the parameters utilized.

In the “Artist Saga” use case, users can vote their favorite artist to make him the nominee for a special category at MTV Music Awards, “Artist Saga”. By voting, the artist have a chance to win the nomination, and the user may share his vote on Facebook inviting his friends to perform the same. During and after the challenge, the users may comment the results with other voters.

During the event’s live coverage, Artist Saga has hosted the final match between the two finalist artists, reaching peaks of 8 thousands cuncurrent users and more than 20 thousands cuncurrent votes.

Destination Vodka Facebook Game

Alittleb.it has developed for Keglevich the Facebook game named “Destination Vodka”.

The application reflects the dynamic and modern style of Keglevich’s Vodka communication.
Along the six carefully designed levels, users can test their skills immerging in the game thanks to his storytelling similar to a comic.

The use of Ludum technology, alittleb.it’s tool for rapid development of small Social Games, made us possible to create an application within Facebook where users have the opportunity to unlock achievements and badges, challanging other users or friends in a competition to obtain the highest score for each of the six levels.

Users can invite their friends generating a viral circle for the app, exposed to a wider audience. The use of the Ludum technology gives the ability to easily replicate the technical basis of the application, adapting it to the context in which is inserted, so it’s easy to create similar experiences for other companies interested in developing similar applications to fuel their brand awareness and optimize their in-game ADV.

Master of Alchemy Vengeance Front

Vengeance Front is the new episode of Master of Alchemy series,  an engaging Physical Puzzle Game based on the manipulation of solid, liquid and gaseous elements.

More than 50 levels will test gamers’ alchemic skills: they will have to carry a certain amount of matter along a path full of obstacles; to transport the matter, gamers will have to take advantage of physics properties, changing particles states by using stills. Moreover, the game challenges players with a host of interactive environments, such as frigid areas that change the state of particles and obstacles to make them move differently.

Vengeance Front will appeal both the fans of the original episode and the puzzle game enthusiasts that are intrigued by the Alchemy.

Highlights:

The game uses an effective and realistic physical engine to manage and manipulate the particles of matters. We worked very hard to improve the physics engine of the game and the flow of the various substances is now smoother and more realistic than ever.

Moreover, we use a new graphic style and we optimized the difficulty curve, to target also genre novices.

Alittleb.it has developed for Kiver and Elio e le Storie Tese (EelST – a famous Italian music group) the iOS apps “FRANCn”.

Simply placing an iPhone or iPad on his eyes or mouth, the user now can play like one of the members of the band EelST: the app will “replace” user’s face parts with those of an EelST’s component; so, the final visual effect remembers the Frankenstein’s face (from that the app’s name FRANCn)
In the paid version, the app contains also a video editor: the user, helped by a positioning grids and the accelerometer, can create his personal video using the app; then the video can be shared with the dedicated community and voted by others app users.

OLIMPIADI DELLA MENTE – Concept in brief
Gamers are divided into teams (till 4 teams).
A virtual quiz master puts 6 turns of multiple choices questions to teams (as in Trivial Pursuit).
If one team gives the wrong answer, another team can try to reply to the same question.
“Olimpiadi della Mente” contains 1.000 for free.

SCRIVI LA FIABA DEI 3 PORCELLINI – Concept in brief
The Three Little Pigs fairy tale is narrated, written and illustrates like a magic book.
In every page of the book, a word has been erased; to continue the story, the kid has to write the missing word, using the scattered letters on the tv sceen and ordering them thanks the remote control.

Vodafone E-learning Game Experience

Alittleb.it has conceived and created an alternate reality game, developed for Vodafone’s employees, in order to teach smartphones’ technologies.

The e-learning game was developed by the exploitation of LUDUM: an alittleb.it’s platform designed and developed to ensure a unified, complex but immediate gaming experience.

Alittleb.it opted for a strategy that involved interactive and experiential learning, maximizing the element of fun to promote the interest and the active approach of Vodafone employees.
The gamified experience takes place at the same time on pc browsers, smartphones’ screens and in the real world, creating real offline experiences into Vodafone’s offices.

E-learning about smartphones is possible through the tasks/missions contained in the game: each player acts as a SuperMobile Hero, with the aim of carrying out missions to decipher a hidden message, which led him to take a long playing-trip in the Vodafone world.
The game has been developed to work on long term: with a gradual release of the missions. About the user’s virtual embodiment, an avatar is available, which can be customized at will, by spending virtual coins earned in missions.
Certainly, the game is social: each user can make friends (adding them on a buddy list) and publicly communicate anything they want, through the status bar (just like in Facebook). The stimulus of competition among players is maintained by the presence of a leaderboard that shows the very best players in a rank.

 

Strategic Objectives

  • Increase the familiarity of employees with smartphones and inform on the potential offered by the latest generation devices (we have created moments of the game that included situations of actual use of smartphones, with a focus on functionality)
  • Improving the working environment (through the creation of missions strategically designed to amuse, engage and socialize)
  • Improve the image of Vodafone (using an advanced storytelling that maintained a constant presence of the brand Vodafone and that stimulate the sense of belonging of employees)
  • Determine and reward employees more oriented to Smartphones (through a system of remuneration and offline game: Achievements, virtual objects, real prizes)
